Positions on Hyperliquid are public and tied to a wallet address, so you can track Hyperliquid wallets and whales from one tab. You can see what the largest Hyperliquid accounts hold, follow the ones you care about, and hear when they open or close a position. This guide walks through how that works with the Hyperliquid whale tracker in Tabmydata.
Why Hyperliquid accounts are visible
Hyperliquid is a decentralised exchange for perpetual futures that runs its order book on its own blockchain. Every account is a wallet address, and its positions and trades are public. Raw on-chain data is hard to read, though. A tracker turns it into tables you can sort, open and follow.
Tabmydata reads that public position data. You are looking at other people's public wallets. Nothing in this guide places a trade.
Step 1: Find the accounts worth watching
Add the Hyperliquid Whale Tracker tab to your workspace: + (Add a tab) on the tool rail, then Hyperliquid. There are two ways in:
- Top traders: a ranked table of Hyperliquid accounts with their positions, size and activity.
- Top positions: the largest open positions across assets, so you start from the position and see which account holds it.
Sort the table by any visible column to change what "top" means for you.
If you already have an address, paste it into the search box (Wallet or name). For the product steps, see how to use the Hyperliquid Whale Tracker tab.
Step 2: Open the full account view
Click a row to open the account. You see its open positions, closed positions and history, with a window you can switch between 1D, 7D, 30D and All.
Read the positions first: which assets, which side, what size. That tells you how the account is positioned now. Treat any account statistics as a description of the past, not a reason to follow a trade.
How to track a Hyperliquid wallet by address
If you already have an address, you do not need to browse.
- Open the Hyperliquid Whale Tracker tab and click the search field. It reads Wallet or name.
- Paste the address. The table narrows to that account.
- Click the row. A Trader overview panel opens with the account's open positions, leverage, equity and free margin.
- Click the star, or Add to favourites in the overview, to save the wallet.
- To copy an address from the table instead, click the copy icon on the row.
You are reading a public wallet, so you only see what Hyperliquid shows for it. A wallet label or name is a search aid. It does not tell you who is behind the account.
Step 3: Follow the wallets you care about
Click the star on an account row or in the account view. The wallet is saved to Favourites, so the accounts you follow sit in one list instead of in a notes file. You can label a wallet with a private name and keep notes on it.
A short list works better than a long one. Five accounts you understand are easier to follow than fifty you don't.
Top traders and top positions: what each preset shows
The Add a tab card offers three presets: Top traders, Top positions and Favorite traders.
- Top traders opens the accounts table. If you searched for a Hyperliquid leaderboard, this is the closest thing in Tabmydata: a sortable table of public accounts. Click any column header to choose what the table is ordered by.
- Top positions starts from the position. It adds the Crowd and OPEN columns and sorts by the largest open position. Use it to see which Hyperliquid whale positions are biggest right now and who holds them.
A green OPEN badge next to a wallet means it has a position open now. Narrow the list with the Large accounts and Traded today chips.
Step 4: Get alerts when a followed wallet acts
Set an alert for a followed wallet, and its opens and closes appear in the Alerts tab under Hyperliquid. They reach you by sound, email, push or a Discord webhook, in alert settings.
That way you don't have to watch the table all day. Step away, and an alert reaches you when one of your wallets acts.

Setting up Hyperliquid whale alerts
There are two kinds of Hyperliquid whale alert. They do different jobs.
- Follow a wallet. Star the account, then switch Opens or Closes on in its overview. You hear when that one account opens or closes a position, whatever the size.
- Whale Alerts. These report large prints on Hyperliquid above a minimum size you set in Alert Settings. They show in the Whale tab of the Alerts page. Whale Alerts here come from Hyperliquid only.
Both reach you the way you choose: in the app, by sound, by email, by push or in your Discord by webhook. Alerts can arrive late or not at all, so do not use them where timing is critical. Setup steps: how to get Hyperliquid wallet alerts and whale alerts.
Step 5: Read a wallet next to the market
A wallet's position means more next to the market it trades. Put the Hyperliquid Whale Tracker tab in the same workspace as:
- the live liquidations feed, to see forced closes as they print on the same coin;
- the Liquidation Heatmap, to see modeled liquidation levels above and below price (estimates, labeled as modeled);
- a chart or the Orderbook Heatmap, to see where order-book liquidity sat.
Some views let you jump from an account to liquidation levels and depth for its asset, or open it on a chart.
You can also see how tracked accounts are positioned as a group, long or short per asset, in the crowd view. It describes the crowd now, not a direction to trade.
What wallet tracking can and can't tell you
- It can show what large public accounts hold right now, and when the wallets you follow open or close a position.
- It can't tell you why an account traded, whether it holds other positions elsewhere, or what it will do next.
- It isn't copy trading. You see what a public wallet did. What you do with that is your decision.
Common mistakes when following whales
- Treating size as skill. A large account is a large account. Size says nothing about whether it trades well.
- Reading old numbers as a promise. Account statistics describe the past. They are not a reason to follow a trade.
- Forgetting positions change. A position you saw an hour ago may be gone. Open the account again before you rely on it.
- Seeing one wallet as the whole picture. An account may hold other positions on other wallets or venues that you cannot see here.
- Following too many. Five accounts you understand are easier to follow than fifty you do not.
- Copying without a plan. Tabmydata shows what accounts hold. It does not place trades, and what you do is your decision.
