Messages Overview
How messaging works on Tabmydata: where conversations live, who is allowed to message you, read status, and how message notifications are delivered.
What is the Messages page?
The Messages page (/dashboard/messages) is where direct messages live, split into two tabs: Messages and Friends. Use it to chat one-on-one with friends, manage incoming and outgoing friend requests, search for other users, and handle blocked accounts.
Messages & Friends tab
The Messages tab lists all your active conversations. Each one shows the participant's avatar, username, online status, a preview of the last message, and its read status as an unread count badge. Click any conversation to open the chat.
The Friends tab has four sub-sections: All (your current friends list), Requests (incoming and outgoing friend requests), Search (find and add new users), and Blocked (accounts you have blocked).
Quick chat panel
A compact chat panel is available on every dashboard page. Click the chat icon in the top-right of the navbar to open a conversation without navigating away from your workspace. A badge on the icon shows your unread message count.
