How to send a message
To send a message on Tabmydata, open Messages in the sidebar or click the chat icon in the top bar, pick a friend or a recent chat, and write in the conversation. You can message the friends on your friends list, and see unread counts at a glance.

Where do I find my chats?
Two places open the same conversations:
- The quick chat panel. Click the chat icon in the top bar. A red count shows unread messages, and the dropdown lists your recent chats. Click one to open it without leaving your workspace.
- The Messages page. Open Messages in the sidebar. Chats lists your conversations and Friends lists the people you can message. See how messages work.
How do I start a conversation with a friend?
- Open Messages in the sidebar and click Friends.
- Click All to see your friends.
- On the friend's row, click Message. Or click the three dots and choose Send Message.
- Write your message in the conversation on the right and send it.
Tip: use Search at the top of the page to find a chat or a friend quickly.
How do I continue an existing conversation?
- Open the quick chat panel from the chat icon, or open Chats on the Messages page.
- Click the chat. The conversation opens on the right. With nothing selected, the pane reads "No conversation selected".
Who can I message?
Friends are the people you can message. To add someone, see Add and manage friends. If you do not want new requests, use Social settings. To stop one person, see Block and unblock a member.
Frequently asked questions
How do I start a new conversation?
Open Messages, choose a friend from your Friends list and click Message. You can also open an existing chat from the quick chat panel.
Where do I see my unread messages?
On the chat icon in the top bar, on the Messages item in the sidebar and in the Messages card on the Dashboard.
How do I stop emails about new messages?
Switch Messages off for email in Notification settings.
